Happy Mid -Autumm Festival

The Mooncake Festival, also known as Mid-Autumn Festival, is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month. The moon plays a significant part of this festival.Girls, it is a festival that brings us back some sweet memories.
This occasion is a time of gathering and reunion for families and friends. We can come together to enjoy mooncakes, Chinese tea and appreciate the moon at its fullest. Still remembered 13.9.08. The festival started in the evening when there was a full moon in the sky.

After one hour, it became dark rainy evening. The rain came down on us. Lydia, you played the saxophone for your school's band. Dad, mom, Priscilla, Kakak Siti, Kai Yun and Ke Xin followed closely behind. More than 300 children participated in a Lantern Walk. What a joyful atmosphere. Street crowded with parents, students, teachers, residents, cars and motorcycles. We enjoyed the walk.
Marching bands played musics along the walk. McDonald's was major sponsor for food tonight. Children received free dinners. They also enjoyed watching live performances on stage.
The Lantern Festival on 17.9.2005 took place at GLGC also left many fond memories. During the festival, we hoped to bring smiles to all children. Our sunday school children parade on the streets, while singing and carrying colorful lanterns of different sizes.
Some of the popular shapes include fishes, stars, butterflies and a lantern that spins when a candle is inserted. They were very happy with their lanterns. Walked around the streets, carry lanterns shining bright to light the darkness of the night.

In days gone by, most children opting for lanterns made of plastic which powered by batteries. As for dad and mom, we much prefer the home-made one with the candles with bamboo sticks. It is a very traditional form of art. We don't like the electric ones.
Lydia and Priscilla, when looked at the moon, we realized that God could create something so beautiful. A celestial star that could control the seasons and flow of the sea.
The moon looks so small from where we are, but it's role is so important.
He rules. He is ruler of all creation because He is the Creator. Everything belongs to Him.
Happy Mid -Autumm Festival to all and also the beautiful moon.
