Dinner with grandparents at James Foo Western Food

We decided to have our dinner with grandparents at James Foo Restaurant. It is situated at Jalan Fettes, Tanjong Tokong which opposite Island Plaza, Penang. This restaurant was recommended by our dear friend, Bernice Munchy.

If you are Penangites, you should know which is the famous Western Food in Fettes Park. However, it had been renamed as James Foo & Family Fettes Park Western Food since 2 years ago.

James Foo Western Food is always packed each time we pass through Fettes Park. We really hope to discover the secrets of this famous restaurant.
A very hot spot to have your favourite western delights with family and friends.

When we reached there on 2.10.2011, it was already full. The place is equipped with air conditioning system. The patrons can enjoy their meal and feel more comfortable if compared to previous place.

It is quite spacious but still hardly accommodate the number of customers. We had to take our numbers and waited for our turn. If you want to avoid of the crowd, please visit it at 5p.m-6pm.
Their business hour: Tuesday-Sunday 4:00 pm-11:30 pm. Please note the restaurant is closed on Mondays.

After waiting for around 20 minutes, finally it was our turn. The staff at the restaurant were busy but not well organised.
The western food here is really cheap. They serve all types of western food such like fish, chicken, pork, lamb, beef, pasta, soup and salad.

The range is about RM8-RM30. The price had been slightly increased a little but still affordable. There are so many items on the menu. A lot of new dishes for western food lovers. The "Combo" is the one which we can taste chicken, beef and fish at the same time.

James Foo & Family Western Food is quite famous in Penang. They started their business at Fatty Loh's Chicken Rice shop. It had moved to a new commercial building few meters away, beside the previous shop.
One glass of blackcurrant juice costs RM2.20. Really cheap, right? They also serve delicious Jumbo juices which can be shared by 2 to 3 person.

One glass of ice lemon tea costs RM2.20. To our surprise to find that all drinks here are cheap.
Hot Milo without sugar only costs RM2.40. Grandmom preferred to drink warm drinks during dinner time.
Hot white coffee only costs RM2.50. What a creamy, smooth and aromatic cup of coffee.

Some appetiser while waiting for main course. It is often good to start dinner with a hot soup or drink. A bowl of mushroom soup costs RM3.00. It was already sold out around 9pm.

Holland chicken which ordered by Lydia which costs RM9.00. Grilled chicken with cheese, pineapple and ham.
Grilled pork and ham with pineapple and cheese which costs RM9.50. It looks great. Dad loves it so much.
Hawaiian Fish -Grilled fish with ham, pineapple and cheese which costs RM9.50. Mom absolutely loves it. The different between Hawaiian style and Holland style are Holland style comes with cheese, while Hawaiian without cheese.

Fish Maryland which costs RM9.50. As for Priscilla , it is really good. It is worth the price. it looks great with a platter of ham, sausage and banana fritter.
Grandmom selected the Fish and Chips which costs RM8.50.
Grandpa perfered Grilled Fish with black pepper sauce which costs RM9.00. The highlight of this dish is the thick dark peppery sauce. The portion is slightly small but it is just enough to fill our stomach. The gravy of their special sauce is good.

Recommended western food- Stuffed Fish which costs RM10.00. The stuffed fish is actually fish Cordon Bleu, ham and cheese wrap with fish which covered with bread crumbs.

Recommended western food-Chicken Gordon Bleu Chicken stuffed with cheese and ham which costs RM10.00. Don't miss out this order. Dad and mom prefer chicken with a crispy crunchy feel.

Very reasonable price for good food. We were satisfied with the food. No service tax is imposed.Anyway, there are many other varieties to choose from. We will be back for next visit to try out other dishes.
