Haji Samuri Kajang Satay at Pisa

We were going for food hunting at PISA on 13.3.2009 at 9p.m.

We had the opportunity to experience the flavors of Malaysia- Haji Samuri Kajang Satay.

The famous satay as mentioned by lots.

The Kajang town is famous for its satay. It is a restaurant located in a double-storey Malay cultural wooden hut, with great atmosphere. If you are coming down to Kajang, you should definitely have a try.

They serve chicken satays, chicken liver satays, beef satays, mutton satays, rabbit satays, deer satays and fish satays. All are equally priced at RM0.60 per stick. It's quite cheap for the portion they give. The special ones which cost more are rabbit (RM1.60!), deer and mutton.

We prerfered chicken because they were more juicier and moist.
Ketupat and cucumbers as side dishes. Ketupat is basically boiled rice which is contained in a handmade pouch made from coconut leaves.

The ketupat is a symbol of Malay cuisine.

Satay can only be great with a perfect peanut sauce which loaded with peanuts. We like the thick, spicy and nutty peanut sauce.

While we were waiting, dad took an opportunity to take down pictures when the chef was cooking.
The chef was so generous.

He gave us another five free satays. The texture of the satay was fine and soft. No bits of fat and no chicken skin on the skewers.

The Penang International Food Festival will end at midnight on the three days.

Other than the Food Fair inside PISA itself, there is a Food Carnival at the outdoor.
It is the largest Food Expo in Malaysia. The battle of the chefs competition also held in PISA. It cost RM 3 per entry.
We saw a Malay man shed his sweaty clothes while he was cooking rendang.
A clown made really creative balloon and he was crowded with children.

A girl with white painted face welcomed us with a smiling face.

It was fun to see pineapple tarts were so professionally made. The tarts made in different styles. Done on the spot.
The Food Fair also serves Hainanese cuisines minus the pork. Hainanese chicken rice is one of the most popular chinese cuisine in the world. The stall was richly decorated. Very stylised.

Lydia and Priscilla, we had a great night at PISA. We reached home in the middle of the night. A bit tired but too excited to sleep.
