A visit to Segari Turtle Sanctuary,Pantai Remis

After worship in Pantai Remis Gospel Hall, we had our lunch at a traditional Chinese coffee shop with Yong Yan's family.
With our stomachs filled, we headed towards Segari to see a turtle hatchery. Pusat Pengurusan Penyu Pasir Panjang Segari is located just a couple of miles from the town of Lumut , Perak. In order to protect marine habitats and species, this turtle hatchery centre is set up by State Goverment.

We took our family photo again on 15.6.2013. We are the turtle lovers.
We came again to say hello to sea turtles with our church members on 15.6.2013. It was our fourth visit.
We would never forget to take photo on the turtle statue.

The turtle exhibits will provide visitors with more information on the turtles that are being bred here.
However this centre is located somewhere far away, you might need some guidance from the locals. Girls, our earth is filled with majestic views, beautiful people, and even hidden places which are not yet seen or visited.
Their operating hours: Monday to Sunday (except Friday) 10a.m – 12.30p.m; 2p.m- 5p.m. Friday 10a.m – 12p.m; 2.30p.m – 5p.m. The Segari Turtle Sanctuary is open daily and admission is free.
Teenager turtles. There are different ponds for different ages of turtles. What a great place to catch a glimpse of wild life.
There are sections for the adult turtle and teenager turtles.
Little leatherback turtle hatchlings. Sea turtle likes to swim near the edge of pond. The softshell of the turtle hatchlings is dark in colour.
The turtles here come in many sizes, from the hatching stages, teenagers and right up to full grown adulthood.
Adult turtles. It came up to the surface of the water to breathe.
Some turtles dive to the bottom of the sea to rest. Turtles can stay underwater for several hours before they have to come up for air.

This big eyed sea turtle is very cute. En Yin loves baby turtles very much. In the wonders of creation we see God at work.
It was so wonderful to hold baby turtles in our hands on 15.6.2013. Releasing baby turtles into the ocean was truly awesome.

Priscilla, you were so happy to hold a baby sea turtle. Baby turtles are the most adorable reptiles.
If turtle gets turned upside down in the water and can't turn back over, it will drown.
It was`one of the most rewarding experiences of our life.
The sea turtles crawled towards the ocean. Girls, we all wished them safe journeys. Very few of those young turtles are survived. They are preyed upon by crabs, seagulls, and sharks. And, of course, one of the most dangerous predators is human beings.
Baby turtles were crawling into the sea. Words cannot describe the experience. 
Baby turtle has the ability to swim and survive in deeper water. God give sea turtles the perfect equipment to be powerful swimmers.
Pasir Panjang beach is a favorite place for sea turtles to come and lay their eggs before going back to the sea. The fine sandy beaches, lush trees and peaceful area make Pasir Panjang Beach an ideal location for turtle nesting. These turtles come onshore between March and July each year. Unfortunately the turtles`which come visit here is decreasing from year to year.
The hatching center. Visitors are not allowed to step in. Girls, once out of the nest, hatchlings face many predators including ghost crabs, birds, dogs and fish. 

Nesting habits and information regarding endangered species of sea turtles.
Girls, turtles are part of the endangered species list. It is one of the beautiful and amazing creation of God. We should conserve our valuable natural resources.
It is definitely a place worth visiting especially for school children. Parents play a very valuable role in their children's education in and out of the classroom. Children on educational trips learn lots while they are having fun in a more informal environment.
Girls, due to human intervention and pollution, there are not many occasion where one can see the sea turtles come and lay their eggs. The turtles face numerous challenges to survive until adulthood. Participate in wildlife scientific research if you want . Add your voice to all of our current campaigns to save sea turtles. Turtles need a great deal of care. Do love these wonderful creatures that God made.

Late lunch at Eastern Wishes Cafe 南洋泰餐小厨

After worship service in Taiping Gospel Hall, we went to a traditional Chinese tea house with brother Yan Kai. Dad and mom love to experience the authentic Chinese ambiance and culture in a tea house.
The owner served us tea, in the gongfu way. He spent an entire hour explaining the art of tea tasting and brewing to us. He is also a Chinese traditional medicine doctor. He told us that Liu An tea 六安茶 is used for Chinese medicine.
After that, we headed back to Penang. Mom bought some delicious bread at a bakery. The sweet smell of freshly baked bread reminded us how hungry we were.
After one hour and fifteen minutes, we reached Penang. Finally we decided to have our late lunch at Estern Wishes Cafe 南洋泰餐小厨 on 23.9.2012. This restaurant was highly recommended by brother Yan Kai.
Eastern Wishes Cafe is a fusion restaurant that serves both Nanyang and Thai style cuisine. It is located at No. 1-1-49, i-Avenue, Jalan Tun Dr. Awang,11900, Bayan Lepas, Penang. 
Their business hours: Tuesday - Friday: 11:00am - 2:30pm, 5:30pm - 9:30pm. Saturday - Sunday: 11:00am - 3:00pm, 5:30pm - 9:30pm. Closed on Monday.
The service in this restaurant is efficient. The food is reasonably priced with a large variety of dishes to choose from.
You can also order set meals as well. The set meal usually comes with a bowl of soup, drink and a main dishes. Nyonya Rendang Chicken Rice. It costs RM 7.50.
Dry Curry Pork Rice. It costs RM 7.50.

Do not forget to try their Otak seafood. It costs RM18.00. Thai style otak-otak is totally different from Malaysia version one, as they use more seafood to cook it instead of fish only. Dad and mom highly recommend this one.

Do try this also. Special Black Pepper Crispy Squid. It is an appetizer dish and costs RM15.
Hakka Namju Pork. It costs RM15. 
Sun Pei Chicken 三杯鸡. It costs RM15.00. A classic Taiwanese dish with chicken simmered in one cup of rice wine, one cup of dark sauce and one cup of fragrant oil. It is one of the signature dishes in this restaurant.
Sambal Kangkung. It costs RM10.00.
Clay Pot Taufu. It costs RM9.00.
Onion Omlet. It costs RM6.00.
Dessert.Tab Tim Krob 泰式马蹄糖水. Water chestnuts coated in tapioca flour, served with jack-fruit slices in coconut milk. Tab-Tim-Krob is one of Thai desserts which is very tasty and colorful. It costs RM2.80.
Chendol. It costs RM2.80.

Girls, we felt totally exhausted today but the great food helped to jump-start our battery again. Dad and mom will recommend it to friends and family. This is a place we will surely visit again.There is still a good number of food we haven't tried yet.
We try on Green curry chicken on our second visit. We went there with grandparents, bobo and his dear friend. Green Curry is one of our favorite choices. This creamy curry is a nice blend of flavour of different spices. Dad and mom love it so much. Thanks bobo for treating us such a delicious evening meal on 27.12.2012. We had ordered many different dishes. Dad was so excited till he forgot to snap the photo. 
This restaurant is definitely worth visiting. The food will not disappoint you. Tasting is believing. Come and experience yourself. You will enjoy the food as well. Every style of the cuisines prepared by the chef has its own traditional taste.
