Priscilla, we love to be a part of your special occasions

A cake made from a choice of rich chocolate cake for our dear Priscilla on 21.3.2009.
We made this for her 9th birthday.
This is the birthday cake for all chocolate lovers include Priscilla. Definately worth the effort.

To make it a success today, we put a lot of effort. Preheat your oven.
Beat butter and castor sugar.
Sift the flour, baking powder and coco into the egg mixture.
Stir just until mixed.

To bake the top one is extremely easy.

Pour the rest over the cake letting it fall down the sides and smoothing to cover with a palette knife.
Dad took half an hour to cover the top of the cake with melted chocolate.

Very dark and moist.
Both of you spread top of cake with chocolate rice.
Glad that to lend a helping hand.
Priscilla put a candle on the cake.

Lit the candles and blew up. Life is meant to be a light in this world.

Dad and mom really hope that our girls, Amanda, Lydia and Priscilla grow and become strong, fill with wisdom and the favor of God.
Priscilla, have a huge slice of your chocolate cake. We love to be a part of your special occasions. We had been celebrating your birthday three days earlier. We bought presents for you that evening.
Priscilla, you have been looking for a soft toy for a couple of years. You cuddled up to your teddy bear. The teddy bear is so happy. Now he has a new family that love him. Ha Ha.
We also bought each of you a barbie doll as birthday presents. Both of you enjoyed barbie for many years.

Brushed her long hair and dressed up them. Barbie is a huge part of your childhood.

Many happy returns on your day, Priscilla.

Orang Utan island in Bukit Merah Laketown Resort

It was such an enjoyable trip for our family on 20.3.2009.

We went to the Bukit Merah Resort for a day trip.

We had fun at orang utans rehabilitation forest.
These orang utans are placed on an island. Many of them are waiting to be sent back to the deep jungles.

Due to the dedication of the staff of the Bukit Merah Laketown Resort, the orang utans have been living a blissful life in the middle of the Tasik Merah lake.

Baby orangutans, many of whom have been rejected by their mothers are looked after and monitored in the rehabilitation centre. Supervised and bottle-fed by staff.

During birth, the baby orang utans are separated from the mother and taken into care at the ICU for the following reasons. Failure of the mother to produce enough milk, premature birth, poor growth rate or lack of maternal care from the mother.
Entrance is RM15 for adults and RM10 for children. Children below 90cm will not be admitted. After buying our tickets at the ticketing counter, we awaited our ride to Orang Utan Island.
The island can be reached with 10-minute boat ride from the main jetty at Marina Village. There is a boat service that ferries people to and from the Island every 30-45 minutes.

Guests get a chance to observe these primates' behaviour up close and personal. This Island Project has grown over the years.

They work with the state government of Sarawak on the island of Borneo, who send them ill or abandoned orang-utans. Dad and mom pleased with this project.

Some were caged because of their bad behaviour.
Very fascinating to see what was going on.
When we were in the Island, we witnessed how the baby orangutans being take care by the staff. In hospital, they are cared for just like human babies.

Every two hours the patients are bottle fed.

Both of you like them so much. What a childish behavior. Very adorable.

Bed is a cosy cot, with blankets and pillows. They dressed in a nappy and chewed her cot and made faces to guests.

They made funny faces to dad and both of you. Ha Ha.
We met up with a local tour guide. Her knowledge about orang-utans amazed us. She did a great job explaining all the details and answering all our questions.
These orangutans have call names as told by the guide. During feeding time, the food given was mostly of fruit types.
To both of you, baby orangatans are the cutest "kids" in the world.
Really hope can say hello to these cutest "kids" again.
We say goodbye to these furry little primate patient at 6p.m.

Penang International Food Festival at PISA

There were stalls to cater for practically every taste.

From Malay to Thai, laksa to chicken rice at PISA.

Tents had been put up to accommodate the hardworking restaurateurs and cooks.

When we reached PISA on 13.3.2009, our stomachs started making noise.

At that moment, Sausage Eating Contest was held on the stage.

A long bread roll with a hot sausage inside it. Getting the hot dog moist is one way. Some eaters were dipping the hot dog and bun together in water and then slamming them into the mouth as fast as possible.

Some people tried to separate hot dog from bun. This competition was great.

It had a fun atmosphere.

We were thirsty. We drank a cup of royal honey drink which had no colouring, sugar and additives.

Each cup costs RM3. Very refreshing. The stallholder was happy when we captured a photo. He told us the advantages of drinking royal honey drink.

Free drinks were provided by VICO. As we as we approach the stall, we were told that we could get free drinks. The man started to boil water.

When the water was boiled, he poured the water into the cup and stirred it. We enjoyed a warm cup of chocolate drink.

Hot cereals drinks help start the day or bring back the energy during the working day. To support the man, we bought a packet of vico plus cereal. We also enjoyed a cold drink which made by the man.

We continue to hunt for food. Wow, Potato King fresh fried potato chips on a stick. A special types of street food.

They have about 8 different flavours and we were wondering what it was.
It turned out that it was potato which is sliced. It threaded onto a stick and then deep fried to a crisp. Added powdered flavour of your choice, then shakes it up so it coated the potato chips evenly.

It was crispy. A stick costs RM3.50. A reasonable price.

We also tried Ireland potato with mayonnaise. The hawker drained the potatoes. It sounds tasty.

Most people would not consider Malaysia, with its hot tropical climate, a suitable place to cultivate grapes. We met an indian man. He is trying his hands at planting grapes and it has grown beautifully on his farm.

He experienced in grape farming and owns a grape farm in Sungai Petani. We hope that he can open the farm to the public and promote it as an agro-tourism site. Vistors can allow to pick their own grapes.
We had good time and great food at PISA.
