A visit to Galeria Time Tunnel

Do you enjoy strolling to the past? Remembering events and places from your childhood is like looking into a foggy mirror. It brings back some good old memories. Galeria Time Tunnel is located between Equatorial Hotel and Brinchang Town. The museum occupies a basement within Kok Lim Strawberry Farm. It shares with some souvenir shops in the same building.
It is one of the main attractions of the Cameron Highlands. It was our third visit to this place.
The entrance ticket : RM5.00 for adult and RM2.00 for children below 12 years old. Kid below 5 years old is free. Opening hours is from 9 am – 6 pm.

We visited this local museum on 10.6.2012. This private gallery was opened in 2007. We realised this place through internet.

Instead of displaying the usual items with historical values. visitors will find plenty of antiques that bring you a sense of nostalgia. 
Inside the Galleria Time Tunnel, you will be able to find a lot of collective items that reminds us of our childhood. 
Girls, it bring back old memories of dad and mom's school days.Do you see that? An old school briefcase on the table.


A very old sewing machine by the Singer brand. It uses a hand and leg pedal that could be seen in almost every household years ago.These old advertisements posters were mainly hand drawn by talented illustrators. 
Those who are born between 50s and 80s will enjoy their time here looking around familiar items. 
The Highlands were named after William Cameron. A British colonial government surveyor who discovered the plateau during a mapping expedition in 1885.

Girls, there are lots of stuff that reminds dad and mom of our childhood days. Black & white TV set.

In the kitchen section, you will find kerosene stoves, frying-pans, chilli pounders, bowls, plates, spoons, flasks, charcoal stoves, firewood, grinding stones, ladles, “tiffin” carriers and meat safes. 
Black stone mortar and pestle. Girls, unlike mosern blenders, mom perfered the taste of traditional pounded food.
A 50-year-old barber’s chair, a barber's pole, mirrors, scissors, hair clips, combs, hair sprays, straight razors, shaving creams, tonic bottles, curlers, hair dryers, clippers, hair cream, blade sharpeners and a set of posters which were once used to promote barbering.

At Time Tunnel, there are lots of antique collection. Dad and mom found our childhood here. It was great to explore our favorite childhood memories with both of you.

Having Set Lunch at D’Dapor Express


We had our lunch at D’Dapor Express by using the E-voucher on 1.4.2012.


For those who are looking for valuable lunch or dinner, they have special set promotions which will suit your requirement.


4-Course for 4 people only RM33. Only RM8.25 per person.



Meal for four included drinks.


We chose four types of drinks like orange, watermelon, apple and honey dew.


D’Dapor Express is a Malay restaurant. It located within one of the shop lots in the newly restored 140 years old pre-war building  which named Logan Building.





It is located inside Logan's Heritage Building at Union Street or Beach Street in George Town,Penang.




A nice and cozy Malay restaurant with some heritage feels.



One of a classic halal restaurant which serves Malay Cuisine.



If you are spicy food lover, here is the place to go.


Classical old time bicycle.



Besides that, antiques like porcelain vases and bird cages are being displayed here.



The interior design of this restaurant is kind of Malay Classic.

White rice topped with onion flakes is served together with these dishes. Although it is a simple dish, it is delicious. The chefs have more than 10years experience in Malay cuisine.




Ayam panggang Seri Tanjung. RM10.80 value.





Ikan Goreng Bawang Putih Berkicap. RM38 value.





Kacang Panjang Bersambal. RM8.80 value.





Ulam-ulaman. RM4.50 value. This plate of ulam-ulaman was served once we were seated.


A few additional selections of Thai and Chinese dishes. Kailan with mushroom. It costs RM8.80.


Ayam pandan. Typical chicken meat wrapped in pandan leaf. It costs RM12.80.


Udang Buluh Perindu. Deep fried prawn cook with sweet and sour sauce. It costs RM18.00. No doubt, it goes very well with the plain white rice.


A hot favorite of the locals. Fishhead is cooked with curry spices, chililies, onions and tamarind sauce in coconut milk and served with egg plant, ladies finger and tomato. It costs RM38.00.




We had a pleasant time together and satisfied with the food. The food and service were rather good. It is definitely worth a visit if you haven't yet been there.
