Special Day One on 9.5.2014

Mother’s Day is a day for many people to show their appreciation towards mothers. Mother's Day is celebrated on different dates in different countries. We celebrated Mother's Day on 9.5.2014 at Kaffa Cafe.

Kaffa Cafe is located at 72 & 74, China Street 10200 Penang. It was a good dining experience with a three-course western meal with drinks at Kaffa Cafe. The set dinner comes with a glass of drink, soup of the day, main meal and dessert.

Kaffa Kafe stands apart at the place of China Street. It serves a wide range of western or international cuisines. It has another outlet in Strait Quay.

The American style food is average here. It operates from Monday -Thursday from 8am-10pm; Friday-Sunday 8am-11pm.

We ordered the set meal for 6 people. The price was reasonable.

Soup Of The Day. The mushroom sauce was thick with lots of small slices of mushroom and toasted cubes.

Grilled Chicken Breast With Creamy Turmeric Sauce. The chicken was well cooked and the meat was tender and juicy. The portion served was reasonable.

Italian Deep Fried Chicken With Cheese. Italian dressing is an incredibly simple marinade for chicken.

Fried Salmon Goujons With Tartar Sauce.

Fish and Chips with Tartar Sauce.

Grilled Chicken Chop with Bolognese Pasta.

Iced Lemon Tea and Peach Tea.

Hot Honey Lemon.

Hot Milk Tea.

Outdoor Environment.

What a beautiful time we had together. Girls, to wait for God's timing is not a waste but a blessing. All things are beautiful in God's time.

Special Day Two on 14.2.2014

For dad and mom, we do not worry much about Valentine's Day. The truth is we should  celebrate it everyday. Valentine's Day is getting very commercial nowadays. Girls, it is not a day about the gifts. A real happy meal is one that tastes great and makes you feel even better. Dad and mom glad that we could have dinner with both of you on 14.2.2014.

Dad and mom will celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary this year. Girls, we grew even more in love as the years went by. A husband and wife should give priority to God in their lives and make Him the foundation of their marriage. God has given us His Word: "A man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife. ... So they are no longer two, but one" (Mark 10:7-8).

Marriage requires two people who desire to walk the same in life. The secret of a happy marriage is to serve God and each other. Dad and mom are so blessed to have a happy marriage.

Priscilla, you are growing up and taller than mom. Dad and mom really hope that both of you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

Lydia, you are sweet sixteen now. A sweet sixteen is a celebration of maturity; a transition into adulthood. You need to cherish what you have. Thank God for allowing you to experience many joys of life.

We never forget to crave for Western food here as we love the Western meals here.

Tangy Pepper Lamb. Grilled lamb which served with black pepper sauce.

Chicken Polonaise. Grilled chicken served with polonaise sauce.

Smoky Teriyaki Salmon Goujon. Deep fried salmon served with smoked teriyaki sauce.

Grilled Tomeme chicken. Chicken breast meat served with cream Tomeme sauce. The grilled chicken was juicy inside and well cooked.

Soup of the day. Served with bread croutons.

Hot Teh Misai Kucing. It is a tea made solely from the misai kucing herb which has been known for its therapeutic value for generations.

Lemongrass Tea.

Peach Tea.

Ending with dessert, we felt satisfied.

Girls, we had a wonderful evening with great food, good conversation and a lot of laughs.

Celebrating grandmom's birthday at All About Sugar 团圆汤圆甜品店

We celebrated grandmo's 77th birthday at All About Sugar & Gift 团圆汤圆甜品店 on 4.4.2014. It was a memorable dinner. Girls, we thank God for every blessing He has given us.

This restaurant is located at Lorong Susu. Behind Town Steamboat Restaurant at Macalister Road. Their business hour is from 11:30am to 10pm. Closed on every Wednesday. Tang Yuan is the centerpiece of the restaurant's signature dish.

Chen Hong 陈鸿 is a well known Taiwanese celebrity. Chen Hong headed to Penang with the mission to savour all best food in Penang years ago. He visted some of the recommended food spots in Penang. All About Sugar & Gift 团圆汤圆甜品店 was one of the spots.

Oil-paper umbrella 油纸伞 is a type of paper umbrella that originated from China. Each of these oil paper umbrellas is truly a labor of love. This oiled paper umbrella is an elegant choice for interior decorating.They are widely used for the decoration nowadays. The ambience here is good.

A good dining experience with a warm hospitality from the owner and waiters. The owner is helpful and friendly.

Curry Kapitan Chicken with rice. The curry sauce is slightly sweeter than how dad and mom make it at home. The set dinner packages cost around RM13.90-RM19.90 per person. It is reasonable.

It comes with steamed sausage with sliced cucumbers, drink and dessert.

Herbal salty chicken rice set. The salt bakes the chicken in a steamy heat resulting to a very tender, succulent and extra tasty chicken.

Stir Fried Prawn Noodles. A tasty Indonesian stir fry recipe. Flavorful and a bit spicy.

Herbs Chicken Noodle Soup. Chicken noodle soup is a comfort food. Use a combination of herbs can add a depth of flavor.

Steamed Pork Ribs with rice.

This restaurant serves a wide variety of glutinous rice balls. Fillings such as lotus seed, red bean, goji berry, corn, durian, cheese and chocolate. They have different kinds of Tang Yuan included both sweet and salty flavors.

Another signature dish is the Peanut Tang Yuan (花生汤圆). The Tang Yuan in this dessert has sweet peanut paste filling, with sweet peanut soup to complement it.

Old school Sweet Tang Yuan(子孙满堂 RM4.20) . The sugar syrup has a ginger taste as well. Tang Yuan 汤圆 is a very traditional Chinese dessert. You can order a vast varieties of Tang Yuan in this restaurant. There are several types of fillings for tang yuan, such as red bean paste, ,cheese, chopped peanuts, lotus seed and black sesame paste. The owner creates new flavors of tangyuan by substituting the traditional filling with chocolate. You may also try tang yuan wrapped with shredded coconut 椰丝 or an authentic Longan Glutinous Rice 龙眼黑糯米.

Brown sugar based soup Tang Yuan. You may replace the brown sugar with cold vanila ice-cream.

We bought a chocolate cake with whipped cream. Everyone loved it. It is moist and the icing is not too sweet.

Happy Birthday, grandmom. Today is a day of His grace and we pray that you will be forever blessed. He will continue to encompass you under His wings and keep you in His everlasting love.

Choosing a birthday cake is probably one of the most enjoyable things in life. This was an unique cake for our wonderful grandmom. Lydia and Priscilla, our daily walk with Jesus is the reason that we live. If we are earnestly seeking to follow Jesus, we too need to walk closely with him. Girls, we give thanks to our Lord as grandmother has`committed her life to Christ. May God bless our dearest grandmom on her days.
